CONCERNING
EXPORTATION FROM THE TERRITORY OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA OF PLANT
OR PLANT PROPAGATING MATERIAL OF COCONUT (COCOS NUCIFERA Linn)

THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE,

Considering:

• a. that Law No. 2/1961 has been laid down for the protection of Indonesia's richness in plants;
• b. that coconut which is Indonesia's wealth in the form of germ plasma has an important role from economic as well as scientific point of view and needs therefore to be protected and the exportation thereof from the territory of the Republic of Indonesia needs to be limited;
• c. that based on the above-mentioned facts, it is deemed necessary to designate coconut as the type of plant or plant propagating material the exportation of when from the territory of the Republic of Indonesia requires permission from the Minister of Agriculture.

In view of:

• 1. Law No. 2/1961 (Government Gazette of 1961 No. 9);
• 2. Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia No. 44/1974;
• 3. Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia No. No. 15/1984;
• 4. Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia No. 64/M/1988;
• 5. Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture No. 6/PMP/1961;
• 6. Decree of the Minister of Agriculture No. OT.210/706/Kpts/9/1983.

HAS DECIDED

To Stipulate:

FIRST:

The exportation from the territory of the Republic of Indonesia of plant or plant propagating material of coconut (Cocos nucifera Linn.) requires the permission from the Minister of Agriculture as expressed in Article 2 of Law No. 2/1961.

SECOND:

The exportation of plant or planting material of coconut (Cocos nucifera Linn.) as mentioned in the first dictum shall be subjected to Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture No. 6/PMP/1961 as well as to the amended provisions thereof, and to other regulation regarding the exportation of plants and plant propagating material which requires the permission from the Minister of Agriculture.

THIRD:

This Decree shall take effect on the date of the issuance.
